Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of TheHumanWorth.com (“TheHumanWorth”, “we”, “us”), including its articles, videos, courses, downloads and membership. By using the site you accept these terms. You must accept them to create an account, become a member or make a purchase.
1. TheHumanWorth
TheHumanWorth publishes original philosophical writing and teaching: essays, video lectures, courses and related materials on the essence and worth of the human being, dialectics and Hegelian thought, and philosophy for life and for the age of technology. Some content is free to everyone; other content is available to members or to the buyers of a course.
2. Original content and copyright
All articles, videos, courses, documents and e-books published on TheHumanWorth are original works created by TheHumanWorth, unless a work is expressly credited to another author. These works, together with the design and arrangement of the site and the TheHumanWorth name and logo, are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights and belong to the owner of TheHumanWorth.com.
You may read and watch the content for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you may quote short passages with attribution and a link to the original page. Without our written permission you may not:
- copy, republish, translate, adapt, distribute or sell the content, in whole or in substantial part, in any form or medium;
- record, re-upload or re-stream our videos or courses;
- use the content to train or build artificial intelligence models or any other systems.
3. Accounts
You sign up and sign in with your email address, confirmed by a one-time verification code, or with your Google account. You must use an email address that belongs to you. An account is personal: you may not share it or give anyone else access to your membership or purchases. You are responsible for keeping access to your email or Google account secure.
4. Membership and courses
Membership plans and their prices are shown on our Membership page. An annual membership gives access for one year from the date of payment; a lifetime membership is paid once and needs no renewal. Both give the same access to all member content in every section of the site. Where an annual membership renews automatically, you may cancel the renewal at any time, and your membership continues until the end of the year already paid.
Courses are not included in membership. Each course is sold separately at the price shown on its page and, once bought, remains available to your account.
We continually add to and revise our content. Membership gives access to the member content available on the site at any given time.
5. Downloads
Where we offer documents or e-books for download, downloaded files are for your personal use only. You may not share, upload, resell or otherwise redistribute them. Downloaded files may carry information that identifies the account that downloaded them, and we may set reasonable download limits to prevent abuse.
6. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Dodo Payments, which handles payment, billing and applicable taxes as the seller of record.
Memberships and courses are digital content delivered immediately: access begins as soon as your payment is confirmed. All payments are therefore final and non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law. By completing a purchase you request immediate access and acknowledge that you thereby waive any right of withdrawal, to the extent permitted by law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share your account, or sell, lend or otherwise give anyone access to your membership or purchases;
- copy, scrape, download or archive the site or its content by automated means, such as bots, crawlers or scripts;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with access controls, paywalls, security checks, rate limits or download limits;
- redistribute member content, courses or downloaded files, including posting them on other websites, platforms, groups or file-sharing services;
- register with an email address that is not yours, impersonate another person or provide false information;
- send spam or abusive, unlawful or harmful messages through our contact form or any other feature;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or to other users’ accounts or data, or disrupt the operation of the site;
- use the site in any way that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others.
8. Suspension and termination
If you breach these terms, we may suspend or terminate your account and your access to the site, your membership and your purchases, with or without notice. When an account is terminated for a breach of these terms, no refund is given for any membership or purchase. You may close your account at any time from your account page.
9. Disclaimer and liability
The content of TheHumanWorth is philosophical and educational. It presents ideas and arguments for reflection and is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice.
We take great care over our content and the availability of the site, but the site is provided “as is”, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Privacy
How we collect and use personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as TheHumanWorth develops. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will tell members by email of any change that materially affects their membership.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising from them or from the use of TheHumanWorth is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. These terms are published in English and Chinese; if the two versions differ, the English version prevails.
